The Scotch Ridge Center is an area along the North River at the HWY 5 gateway to Carlisle that is being developed as a place for celebrating, preserving and learning about the area's unique environmental and cultural heritage.  It's primary feature is an extremely rare transect of four distinct soil-based ecosystems:  a riparian wetland, a riparian woodland, an upland prairie and an oak savannah, all within walking distance of one another.

The center will provide a learning center and repository for historical data, artifacts relating to the native inhabitants and first settlers of the area, and the history of Northeast Warren County.
